Acceptable Use & Advertising Content Policy

Last updated: 3 July 2026 · LEADS (ABN 58 697 901 286) is operated by COSMIQ DIGITAL SOLUTIONS in New South Wales, Australia.

Your ads play on real screens in public and in-venue spaces where families, children and the general public can see them. Because of that, content has to meet a higher bar than online ads. This policy explains what's allowed, what isn't, and how review works. It is incorporated into, and works alongside, our Terms of Service and Advertiser Agreement.

1. The golden rule

If you'd be comfortable with a child, your grandparent and a stranger all seeing it on a public screen, it's probably fine. If not, it probably isn't. Every campaign is reviewed and approved by our admin team before it goes live.

2. You must

  • Own or have the rights to all content you upload (images, video, music, logos, fonts) — and to any website or landing page that a QR code in your ad links to.
  • Make sure claims are truthful and not misleading — pricing, offers and "limited time" claims must be real.
  • Comply with all applicable Australian laws and advertising codes, including the Australian Consumer Law and the AANA Code of Ethics.
  • Clearly identify who is behind the ad where the law requires it (e.g. political or electoral material).
  • Make sure any QR code in your ad points to a safe, working, on-brand destination that itself complies with this policy.

3. Prohibited content

You may not advertise, depict or promote:

  • Adult, sexually explicit or pornographic material, or escort/adult services.
  • Illegal goods or services, weapons, or illicit drugs and paraphernalia.
  • Hateful, discriminatory, harassing or violent content, or content that demeans a person or group.
  • Content that is misleading, deceptive, scammy, or promotes fraud, "get rich quick" schemes or unlicensed financial advice.
  • Gambling, tobacco, vaping or other age-restricted products except where specifically permitted by law and pre-approved by us.
  • Material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
  • Shocking, graphic, frightening or distressing imagery unsuitable for a public audience.
  • Malware, deceptive or harmful QR codes/links, phishing, or anything designed to harm, mislead or trick viewers.

4. Restricted categories

Some categories are allowed only when they comply with the relevant Australian rules and codes, and may require extra review or evidence (such as a licence or approval number) before we approve them. Tell us in advance if your campaign falls into one of these:

  • Alcohol — must comply with the ABAC Responsible Alcohol Marketing Code and must not target or appeal to minors.
  • Gambling & wagering — must be lawfully licensed and carry any required responsible-gambling messaging; we may still decline it as unsuitable for public screens.
  • Therapeutic goods & health claims — must comply with the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code; no prohibited, unverified or misleading health claims.
  • Financial & credit products — must be accurate and not misleading and comply with ASIC and Australian Consumer Law requirements; no unlicensed financial advice.
  • Political & electoral — must carry the authorisation the law requires.
  • Tobacco, vaping and e-cigarettes — advertising is generally prohibited by law and will not be accepted.

Because our screens sit in public spaces seen by children and other vulnerable audiences, we may decline or restrict age-restricted advertising even where it is otherwise lawful — for example in family venues or near schools — at our discretion.

5. Review, decline & removal

We review every campaign before it goes on screen. We may decline content that breaches this policy, ask you to make changes and resubmit, or remove a campaign that's already live if an issue comes to light. Where a campaign is declined before delivery, nothing is charged and any hold is released back to your wallet. Where a live campaign is removed for a breach, you're charged only for the plays delivered before removal — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. Repeated or serious breaches

Accounts that repeatedly submit prohibited content, or that attempt to bypass review, may be suspended or banned under our Terms of Service. Serious or unlawful content may be reported to the relevant authorities.

7. Questions

Not sure whether your ad is allowed? Ask before you build it — email support@leads.cosmiq.au and we'll point you in the right direction.
